MASKING TAPE
Masking tape isn't simple anymore. With many different adhesive formulas and backings, one has to consider the job their doing when purchasing. A lot of consumers come in and ask for the "blue tape". Blue tape is made for clean removal after 14 days outside and is a good product, but also one of the more expensive options. If you're going to tear the tape off right away it will be a less expensive option to go with one of the painters tapes.Allpro Blue Masking tape is made by IPG with a special adhesive that repels latex paint so edge lines come out straighter and cleaner. ShurTape Frog Tape also has a special edging to their tape that prevents waterbase paints from creeping under the crepe paper backing. Stucco Tape has a heavy duty adhesive to stick to masonry surfaces and is rated for clean removal up to 2 weeks of exterior exposure. The plastic backing is waterproof and won't swell or rip when wet. |
